The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Nasir Khan Durrani, dismissed three DSPs from services. They had already been suspended in light of a departmental inquiry. The three officers were Rahim Shah Khan, Banaras Khan and Tajamul Khan. They were suspended for allegedly maintaining links with criminal elements and kidnappers. A departmental inquiry was also initiated against them. The inquiry committee presented its report against the suspended DSPs to the IGP.
According to the inquiry, to allegations levelled against the suspended DSPs Rahim Shah Khan, Banaras Khan and Tajamul Khan were found to be correct. The IGP while dismissing the suspended DSPs from their services issued a formal notification in this regard.
The IGP has clarified in unequivocal terms that the process of reward and punishment in police force will continue and police personnel found involved in corruption and crimes would not be forgiven in any circumstances while those showing good performance would be extended all possible encouragement.
