Chairperson Technical and Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) Irfan Qaiser Shaikh has said that Tevta would involve industrial sector to introduce market-oriented courses at our institutes across Punjab. A scientific system would be developed for the placement of TEVTA pass-outs according to their level of skills at local and foreign job market.
In this way, TEVTA would help poor skilled youth to become a useful member of the society. He was addressing Officers of TEVTA in a meeting here on Tuesday. Irfan Qaiser Shaikh said that the availability of skilled manpower is not only a key to success for industrial development in Pakistan but also for individual socio-economic prosperity and poverty alleviation in the society. Close and effective liaison with the industry can help TEVTA for training the youth in demand driven and employable trades. Training of youth in employable trades is not only our prime responsibility but also socio-economic need of the nation.
Chairperson TEVTA said that keeping in view the market trends and demand of the industry, course contents of need based technologies of DAE and diploma of vocational training would be revised. TEVTA, in consultation with the private sector, would develop an elaborated road map in line with the vision of TEVTA and policy guidelines of the Chief Minister Punjab. The Chairperson TEVTA urged the management to make full co-ordination with the members of business community to identify their needs and requirements for bringing purposeful changes in the functioning of TEVTA.
