Dr Helmut Koerber, a renowned German International trainer on Energy Management, has urged the industrial sector of Pakistan to adopt the world's best energy conservation practices to diminish the affects of prevailing energy crisis in Pakistan.
He was addressing a one-day training programme organised by the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) on "Energy Management" in collaboration with the Germany Agency "GIZ" and Pakistan Foundry Association(PFA) at Foundry Service Center(FSC) Lahore. Mukesh Kumar, Project Director (FSC) and Asim Qadri, President PFA also addressed the participants, representing various local SMEs.
Dr Koerber said that there is a huge potential of growth among the manufacturing SMEs in Pakistan. The local SMEs, currently, can enhance their competitiveness by making themselves more energy efficient, he added. He gave a detailed presentation on this occasion on the best practices to be implemented by industries at world level to compete with the international players and increase profitability. He was confident that Pakistani SMEs could also obtain huge benefits by adopting these practices.
Mukesh Kumar, Project Director (FSC) welcomed the participants on behalf of SMEDA and also thanked Dr Helmut Koerber for visiting Pakistan and helping the industries in managing the limited energy resources available in Pakistan more efficiently. Mukesh also appreciated the services of GIZ and German Government in supporting the industry in Pakistan. Asim Qadri, on behalf of the PFA, expressed deep gratitude to SMEDA and GIZ to arrange a useful training programme for foundry industry.
