The Chief of the Air Staff of Nigerian Air Force, Air Marshal Adesola Nunayon Amosu, visited the Air Headquarters here on Monday and paid homage to the martyrs of PAF by laying a wreath on the Martyrs Monument. On his arrival at the Air Headquarters, the distinguished guest was received by Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt, Chief of the Air Staff of Pakistan Air Force. A smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan Air Force presented the guard of honour.
After reviewing the guard of honour, he was introduced to the Principal of Staff Officers of Pakistan Air Force. Later on, he called on Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt in his office. Both discussed matters of professional interests. The delegation also attended a briefing at Air Headquarters on the organisation, role and functioning of the Pakistan Air Force.
An important event of the day was the signing of co-operation agreement between the Nigerian Air Force and the Shaheen Foundation. The Air Chief reiterated to further enhance Pakistan Air Force full support for the Nigerian Air Force in terms of technical, training and other professional avenues. Meanwhile, the Nigerian Air Chief also called on Minister of Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif and Minister of Defence Production Rana Tanvir Hussain in Rawalpindi.
Matters related to professional interest and future co-operation were discussed. Later in the day, Nigerian delegation also visited the Air Defence Command of the Pakistan Air Force. The delegation attended a briefing on the working of Air Defence Command and also visited Air Defence Operation Centre. On their arrival, the delegation was received by Air Vice Marshal Ejaz Mahmood Malik, Air Officer Commanding, Air Defence Command, and Pakistan Air Force. The eight-member Nigerian Air Force delegation is on a five days visit to Pakistan on the invitation of Pakistan Air Force. The delegation will visit various PAF bases and installations.
