Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain on Tuesday said that Sindh would be made most-developed province of the world if it was handed over to MQM for 10 years.
Addressing Sindh-speaking people at Lala Qila Ground, MQM leader said that feudal lords had been ruling Sindh since the inception of the country but they failed to work for oppressed and under-privileged masses of the province. "Sindh would not be divided with creation of more administrative units in the province," he said. "It would be a major dent to the feudalism if local bodies system is introduced in Sindh," he said, adding that feudal lords would not support local bodies system due to fear of losing grip over the province.
He said that his (Altaf Hussain) life and death was linked with this land. Altaf Hussain said that some elements were adopting the divide and rule policy in Sindh, adding that permanent citizens of Sindh are owners of the land and they would jointly protect their territory.
"Those who have been winning the elections from Larkana, Noudaro, Ratodero and other parts of the interior Sindh have given nothing to the Sindhi people," he said. Criticising the ruling party of the Sindh, Altaf said they did not establish hospitals, schools, colleges and universities for the people. " If they ( feudal lords) support the creation of new administrative units they would definitely lose their grip over the province," he added.
He said that MQM would strip all the feudal lords of the country of their lands Why an Urdu-speaking person cannot assume the office of chief minister of Sindh, he questioned. Meanwhile Altaf Hussain strongly condemned hand grenade attack on Islamic Research Centre (IRC), Imambargah near Aisha Manzil and expressed his deep sorrow over injuries to women and children. He prayed for their early and complete recovery.
