The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday directed an additional district and session court judge in Lahore to verify votes polled in the NA-122 constituency in the general election 2013. Sources in the ECP said that the decision has been taken on a petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan who claimed the poll in the constituency was rigged.
Khan has also sought resignation of National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq till the completion of verification process of votes in the constituency by the election tribunal. The Additional Sessions Court Judge would likely to start verification of votes from November 7 onwards. Later, a commission will inspect all votes cast in the constituency, sources maintained.
