Outgoing Director General Inter Services Intelligence Agency (ISI) Lieutenant General Zaheer-ul-Islam made a farewell call on Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control Chaudhry Nisar Ali here on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said ISI, being the premier intelligence agency of the country, was playing a vital role in safeguarding the strategic interests of the country.
"The ISI has always proved itself to be a formidable line of defence against the internal and external threats to the country. During the tenure of Lieutenant General Zaheer-ul-Islam, ISI remains engaged in playing a proactive role to address the security concerns of Pakistan and maintained close co-ordination and co-operation with the Interior Ministry which shall be further enhanced in future." While appreciating his services for the country and eulogising his long and illustrious career in the armed forces of Pakistan, the Interior Minister wished the outgoing DG all the success and prosperity in life.-PR
