Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Nasir Khan Durrani Monday visited Peshawar Cantonment and City areas and Inspected security arrangements at different Imam Barghas and police check points. He also met with the organisers and police jawans deployed on security duties. During his visit to the cantonment area the police chief inspected security arrangements on Imam Bargah Hussainya Hall in detail.
The police chief met with police officials on different duty points and impressed from them about the adopted security arrangements on this occasion. The IGP also met with the organisers of the Imam Bargah and exchanged viewed with them about the security steps in place. The organizer expressed full satisfaction over the police security arrangements adopted for peaceful observance of Muharram and assured their all possible help and co-operation to the law and enforcement agency in this regard.
Later, the IGP also visited city area where he inspected the security arrangements on different Imam Bargahs. The Police Chief also reviewed the Muharram security arrangements on various check points at Gulbahar. He met the police officials deployed on the check points and briefed himself form them about the adopted security measure. The IGP expressed satisfaction over their alertness and issued further necessary instruction to meet any eventualities.
Talking to the media men the IGP informed that full proof security arrangement had been made for peaceful observance of Muharram throughout the province. He further went on to say that timing and routs of the procession will be strictly implemented he added that strict security arrangement had also been adopted for women Majlis and ladies police had been deployed for this purpose. Chief Capital City Police Officer Muhammad Ijaz Khan, Personal Staff Officer to IGP Muhammad Sohaib Ashraf accompanied the IGP on this occasion.
