Youm-e-Ashur (Muharram 10) will be observed with traditional religious dedication and commitment to commemorate the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions with heightened security in Faisalabad Division. The 9th Muharram processions were taken out on Monday from various parts of the Four Districts including Faisalabad, Jhang, Chiniot and Toba Tek Singh. The processions of Shabih-e-Zuljinnah, Alam (flag) and Tazia marched through usual routes and culminated at their destination peacefully, however majalis Aza continued till late night.
CPO Faisalabad Sohail Tajik said that, during Muharram 9 and 10, 153 processions will be taken out in the district while 26 Majalis Aza will be held at Imam-Bargahs and 10 at private residences, and all the needed security and assistance will be provided by the administration with 7,824 policemen.
DCO Noorul Amin Mengal said that all resources are being mobilised by the district administration to keep law & order situation under control on Ashura Muharram and co-ordinated strategy is being followed to make the Muharram Security Plan a success. He said, while visiting the District Muharram Control Room working at DCO Office to monitor the security arrangements. MPA Sh. Ejaz Ahmad, DCO Shafiullah Khan, ACs Sharukh Niazi, Rafia Haider and other officers were also present. The DCO said that the security arrangement has further been tightened in the district in wake of Lahore tragic incident and the security plan has been reviewed again with all aspects under which four tier cordons has been set-up around the muharram procession besides sealing the routs leading to them.
The DCO informed that the staff of rescue 1122, police, civil defence, TMAs, WASA, Sui Gas, FESCO, health and other concerned departments has been deployed at control room for ensuring quick response in case a any emergency. The DCO said that administrative and security arrangements are being monitored by the control room while the activities of the public and security staff are also being watched through 12 CCTV cameras installed at main Imambargah Diglouspurua, Dobi Ghat ground, Aminpur Bazar and Chowk Clock Tower.
He informed that the similar Muhammad Control Room is also working at tehsil level to co-ordinate the muharram arrangements. MPA Sh. Ejaz Ahmad said that under the direction of CM Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, the Punjab govt. has made elaborated arrangements to keep the peaceful environment during muharramul harram for which all possible resources are being utilised. He expressed his satisfaction over the measures taken by the district administration to keep the law & order situation under control at Ashura Muharram. He further said that the public representatives would also remain active for peaceful observance of Ashura Muharram. Later, DCO Noorul Amin Mengal visited Chak Jhumra to check the muharram arrangements. He interacted with the organisers of muharram processions and assured them to provide all out measures for the protection of processions and majalis. He stressed upon the deployment of volunteer guards to keep eye on suspects and anti social elements. The DCO also visited Bostan-e-Zara at Peoples Colony and discussed the security arrangements with the organisers of Muharram processions and urged upon extending full co-operation to make the security arrangements a success.
