ENTA, a prominent Turk company's President Uzi Sezer met Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif here on Wednesday and expressed interest in investment in water supply and waste water treatment projects in Punjab. Speaking on the occasion, the CM said the provision of potable water to the citizens was the top priority of the government and a mega project was being launched for that purpose. He said in the first phase, Saaf Pani Project would be started in 18 districts of the province.
He said water filtration plants would be set up in various districts of Punjab under a phased programme besides water supply schemes would be revived so that clean drinking water could be available to the masses. He said Saaf Pani Project was of vital importance as it was directly linked with the human health.
The CM welcomed the interest shown by the Turk company in investment in Saaf Pani Project and said a number of Turk companies were already investing in different projects in Punjab, saying Punjab government was providing facilities to foreign investors on priority basis. Chairperson Saaf Pani Company and Member Provincial Assembly Dr Ayesha Ghaus Pasha, Secretaries of Planning & Development, Housing, Chief Executive Officer Saaf Pani Project and other concerned officers were also present on the occasion.
