Lahore Transport Company (LTC) in co-operation with private transport operators will ply exclusive operation of shuttle service of around 100 buses/ mini buses in order to facilitate the commuters amid Raiwand congregation (Ijtima). Buses / Mini Buses will operate in the first phase from 6th of November to 9th of November while in second phase from 13th of November to 16th of November.
For this special occasion some existing routes have been realigned provisionally for the smooth operation of public transport. This was stated by the Chief Executive Officer LTC Khawaja Haider Latif in a meeting to review the arrangements for the commuters participating in the Raiwand congregation.
According to the plan Buses / Mini Buses will operate in parallel on two different route alignments. Route 1 will commence from Railway Station and General Bus Stand to Raiwand via Dharampura, Canal Road, Muslim Town Mor, Thokar Niaz Baig, Bhobtian Chowk, and Muhammad Ali Chowk to Raiwand. Whereas in accordance with Route No 2 shuttle service will start from GBS and Railway Station via Azadi Chowk, Civil Secretariat, Chuburji, Samnabad Mor, Yateem Khana, Thokar Niaz Baig and Bhobtian Chowk to Raiwand congregation. He has said that the staff of enforcement wing of LTC will effectively monitor the public transport on realigned routes for Raiwand Ijtima.
