Tax policy: government seeks suggestions from general public till November 30
The government has sought general public suggestions/input on tax reforms as well as changes in taxation rates for consideration by the Tax Reforms Commission to be incorporated in tax policy for making it taxpayers-friendly. According to an FBR announcement here on Wednesday, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has asked the general public to submit their suggestions till November 30, 2014.
Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue has constituted a "Tax Reforms Commission" for reviewing and rationalising direct and indirect taxes; customs tariff rationalisation; review of autonomy and administrative structure of the FBR; creation of border force to deal with illegal movement of persons and goods across international borders and any other related issues.
The Tax Reforms Commission will appreciate the suggestions and recommendations from general public. General public can submit their suggestions and ideas to be considered by the Tax Reforms Commission. The last date for submission of suggestions is 30th November, 2014.The suggestions may be sent electronically on: [email protected], the FBR added.
