World number three Simona Halep has split with coach Wim Fissette, despite enjoying the best year of her career. The Romanian said on her Facebook page that they had agreed to end their collaboration by common consent. "It was a very good year. I thank him and wish him every success in the future," she said. Halep made a big breakthrough in 2014 winning tournaments in Bucharest and Doha before reaching the final of the French Open where she took Maria Sharapova to three close sets. Fissette previously worked with Grand Slam title winner Kim Clijsters and Wimbledon finalist Sabine Lisicki.
