ANF launched two successful operations at Peshawar and recovered 53-kg Heroin and 5-kg Opium, besides arresting one drug trafficker. Most of the recovered drug was to be distributed locally. The value of the recovered drugs amounts to Rs 362.5 million approximately in International Market.
According to details, ANF Peshawar received information that drug smugglers will smuggle narcotics from Khyber Agency to Peshawar and later on to Punjab. So, ANF Peshawar established a road check at Bara Road, Peshawar. During the operation, Suzuki Bolan stopped at a distance from ANF Road Check. After some time, ANF Team got suspicious about the vehicle, and approached it. The persons on board had already fled away abandoning the car. On its search, 50-kg Heroin was recovered from the car, which was packed in 50 polythene packets of 1-kg each. Drugs were tactfully concealed under the rear seats of the car.
ANF Peshawar recovered 5-kg Opium and 3-kg Heroin from personal possession of an individual Gulab Khan r/o Khyber Agency. He was apprehended during a raid conducted near Kacha Garhi, Jamrud Road, Peshawar. Drug was kept in a plastic bag. As per initial reports, the accused intended to transport the drug to some other city.-PR
