E-book readers who use Adobe Digital Editions should upgrade to version 4.0.1. The software update uses encrypted communication to send data between the programme and Adobe's servers. Previously, licensing and rights management information about copy-protected E-books was transmitted in unencrypted form. The programme now also includes a full-text search, Adobe says.
