Maryam Nawaz, daughter of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, has resigned from the post of chairperson of the Prime Minister Youth Business Loan (PMYBL) programme on Wednesday. The Prime Minister's House confirmed that Maryam Nawaz has stepped down from the post. Earlier, hearing a petition challenging the appointment of Maryam Nawaz, the Lahore High Court (LHC) had granted the government time until Friday to sack her from the post. However, Maryam Nawaz quit as chairperson of PMYBL before the deadline of the LHC.
