Financial assistance is being provided to the flood affectees in a speedy and transparent manner, and in the second phase a sum of Rs 2.6 billion has so far been distributed among more than 71,000 flood-hit people. Colonel Shuja Khanzada (Retd) Punjab Home Minister and Chairman Cabinet Committee on Flood Affectees, disclosed this while addressing a meeting, held here on Wednesday to review the measures for the rehabilitation of flood affectees, disclosed an official.
Punjab Food Minister Bilal Yasin, Punjab government's spokesman Syed Zaeem Hussain Qadri, Senior Member Board of Revenue Nadeem Ashraf, Secretary Information and Culture Momin Ali Agha, Director General PDMA Ahmed Javed Qazi and concerned officers were present. The Minister told the meeting that implementation of the rehabilitation package for the flood affectees will be continued till complete rehabilitation of all calamity-hit people.
Referring to distribution of blankets among flood affectees, Shuja Khanzada said blankets are being provided to distressed people under a comprehensive strategy. The meeting reviewed distribution of financial assistance among the flood affectees and the participants expressed their satisfaction over the process.
