Prime Minister's New York visit: government again directed to submit expense details
The Lahore High Court here on Wednesday against directed the federal government to submit report about the expenses of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's visit to New York. Today, neither the expenses details on foreign visits of the PM were submitted nor did any official appear in the court on behalf of the Foreign Ministry.
However, a law officer who was representing the federal government told the court that the protocol officer of the PM did not submit any details. The court warned him to submit reply otherwise, heavy fine would be imposed on the government. Barrister Javed Iqbal Jafree had filed the petition challenging PM, his family members and servants' stay at expensive hotels, during his recent visit to New York. The petitioner prayed to the court to put the name of Nawaz Sharif and his family names on Exit Control List.
