The Punjab government has approved 11 development schemes of various development sectors with an estimated cost of Rs 5242.503 million on Wednesday including construction of 19 courts at Gujrat at the cost of Rs 217 million.
According to P&D spokesman the approved development schemes included:
1., Construction / Widening of road from Lahore Ferozepur Road Kahna to Halloki along both sides of Butchar Kahna Distributary (length=8.50 km), Lahore at the cost of Rs 935.634 million,
2. Widening / Improvement of road from Yazman to Ahmedpur East (length=61.90 km), District Bahawalpur at the cost of Rs 1798.495 million,
3. Master Planning, Architectural & Engineering Design for New Schemes of Sports Sector (PC-II) at the cost of Rs 33.683 million,
4. Master Planning, Architectural, Engineering Design and Multimedia / IT Design for e-Libraries in Various Playfields and Parks of Punjab (PC-II) at the cost of Rs 11.633 million,
5. Third Party Validation of Sector (Works Completed or Executed More Than 75 percent of Sports PC-II) at the cost of Rs 19.972 million,
6. Engagement of Consultants for Validation of Works of Sports Sector (PC-II) at the cost of Rs 14.872 million,
7. Construction of R C C Drain Qila Mian Singh Minor from Rajkot Disposal Station to Western Bypass, Gujranwala at the cost of Rs 911.383 million,
8. Rehabilitation of Airport Road from Ammar Chowk to Karal Chowk, Rawalpindi at the cost of Rs 549.992 million;
9. Provision of Drainage/Sewerage, Soling & Water Supply in Municipal Area of Burewala City District Vehari at the cost of Rs 349.693 million,
10. Scaling up Pakistan Approach to Total Sanitation (PATS) in Punjab, Open Defecation Free (ODF) at the cost of Rs 400 million and;
11. Construction of 01 No District & Sessions Judge Court, 05 Nos. AD&SJ Courts, 1 No Senior Civil Judge Court and 12 Nos. Civil Judges Courts at Gujrat at the cost of Rs 217.146 million
These schemes were approved in the 23rd meeting of Provincial Development Working Party of current fiscal year 2014-15 presided over by the Punjab Planning and Development Board Chairman, Muhammad Irfan Elahi, says P&D Spokesman. Provincial Secretary P&D Waseem Ajmal Chaudhary, members of the Planning & Development Board, Provincial Secretaries concerned and other senior representatives of the relevant Provincial Departments also attended the meeting.
