Federal Ombudsman Salman Farooqui has taken notice of Khairpur accident and formed a four-member committee to collect details about factors leading to the accident. The committee under supervision of Senior Advisor Imtiaz Illahi will conduct an inquiry and submit a report to the Federal Ombudsman within seven days.
Talking to APP, Director General (DG), Federal Ombudsman Regional Office Sukkur, Muhammad Abdullah Soomro said that following the notification issued by Federal Ombudsman Salman Farooqui, a four- member committee has been formed under the supervision of Senior Advisor of the Federal Ombudsman Imtiaz Illahi, former DG NAB Sindh and Advisor Major General Haroon Sikandar Pasha (Retd), Regional Director Federal Ombdusman Sukkur M. A Soomro and DG Provincial Ombudsman Office Sukkur Wahid Bux Mahar as its members. He said that action would be taken against any official of the NHA, the Motorway Police or a government department found responsible for the accident. It is to mention here that 58 people were killed in a collision between a passenger bus and truck near Khairpur on Tuesday last.
