Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) Sindh President and Pakistan Relief Foundation (PRF) Chief Haleem Adil Sheikh said the devastating scenario in district Tharparkar would deteriorate if proper measures were not taken before winter. He urged Sindh government to take preventive measures in order to save children and infants from dying of acute respiratory disease, which might worsen owing to malnutrition.
There were 24 members of a single family in Jhamrani Goth in Tharparkar, who were handicapped and the family was looking forward to Sindh government for relief. There were around 300 villages in the area where not a single tube well was available to meet the water needs of the local inhabitants and hence the people were compelled to travel for longer distances for just a bucket of water, he added. He said Sindh government was incapable to deliver and address the grievances of the masses.
