Federal Minister for Science and Technology Zahid Hamid hailed the efforts of National University of Sciences and Technology towards aligning its programs and projects with Sustainable Development Goals and Vision 2025 and finding sustainable solutions to societal problems.
This was stated by Zahid Hamid, Federal Minister for Science and Technology during his visit to NUST to inaugurate wastewater treatment plant and Meteorological High Precision Solar / Wind Measuring Station, says a press release issued here on Thursday. The inauguration ceremonies were attended by Secretary MoST and Addl Secretary, Ministry of Water and Power, CEO Alternative Energy Development Board, Director UNESCO Pakistan, Country Director World Bank Pakistan, Director Education Office USAID and other dignitaries from donor agencies.
The wastewater treatment plant is a low-cost technology, requiring minimal energy and operational attention. It produced 75,000 gallons of recycled water per day for entire horticulture of NUST. It is a joint project of UNESCO and NUST. Meteorological High Precision Solar / Wind Measuring Station, is a cutting-edge tier-2 station, second of its kind in Pakistan.-PR
