Farmers' Alliance: Wattoo urges early release of leaders

PPP Punjab President Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo has called for immediate release of Farmers' Alliance leaders. He strongly condemned arrests of the leadership of the Farmers' Alliance and urged the Punjab government to release the arrested ones and avoid vindictive measures forthwith. He said holding a protest in favour of their demands was a democratic right of the farmers.
He said farmers were not happy with the anti-growers community of the Punjab government and nominal increase in support price of agriculture proceeds had disappointed them extensively. He said the PPP Punjab fully supported the demands of the growers.
