Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Monday made it crystal clear to the government not to hinder or disrupt its scheduled rallies in Larkana - a PPP stronghold - and Islamabad on November 21 and 30, respectively. Talking to media after the core committee meeting of the party, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that his party did not need any NOC (no objection certificate) from the government to hold a rally in Larkana or Islamabad.
He said that PTI core committee, which held here with party chairman Imran Khan in the chair, took stock of the situation regarding arrangements of the rallies, as both the federal and Sindh provincial government seemed reluctant to allow the rallies. Qureshi said that the government was making all out efforts to disrupt PTI rallies in Sindh and Islamabad, adding that any such attempt will push both the centre as well as the Sindh government into serious trouble.
"The people want change. The ongoing anti-government PTI sit-ins have proved that change is inevitable, so in such circumstances, if the rulers can think that they can stop the people, I think it's not only difficult but impossible," he cautioned. To a question about the arrest warrants against PTI leaders, he said the fabricated case of maligning PTI of attacking PTV building is nothing but a drama which shows the government is in disarray.
Later addressing the sit-in at D-Chowk, Imran said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his newly born love for his archrival Asif Ali Zardari was nothing but to protect each other's corruption, as both the parties are outright corrupts. "Oh Zradari, I'm coming to Larkana, stop me if you can on November 21. The people of Sindh want to get rid of the slavery...the way people in interior Sindh are being treated is shameful and the PTI will break the shackles of slavery on November 21," he maintained.
He said that by making attempts to disrupt PTI rallies and issuing arrest warrants through courts, Nawaz Sharif is about to commit a political suicide. "The people are well ware that who has links with militants and who took money from ISI to topple BB's government. Oh Allah help this man (Nawaz Sharif) to understand what he has been doing in his lust for power and corruption," he added.
After coming into power, he added, the first thing, which that PTI will do, is ruthless accountability of all those who plundered the national wealth. "Insha-Allah PTI will bring both Zardari and Sharifs to book for corruption. We'll have a fully independent NAB with full powers to hunt the corrupts, no matter whoever he is," he warned. Imran said that the real face of Nawaz Sharif was exposed after he joined hands with Asif Zardari despite tall claims of bringing him to book during his election campaigns for all his corruptions. "Nawaz Sharif could not initiate any action against Zardari because he is equally corrupt," he added.
He went on saying that the PTI will show zero tolerance towards corruption, criminals, money launderers and tax evaders, adding these are the issues due to which the country lag behind despite having all the resources. "Imran Khan is not a stubborn man. My Pakistanis, you are one of those who will proudly claim tomorrow that we are against tyranny and let me assure you that the day is not far when we will get rid of these corrupt rulers," he maintained.
