Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday blasted interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, saying he must stop his 'mantra of democratic and constitutional rights'. Addressing his anti-government sit-in soon after a press conference by Nisar, who warned PTI to avoid confrontation, PTI chairman, in an equally strongly-worded speech, retorted.
"The interior minister (Nisar) must stop teaching me what my democratic rights are". "We're standing here [D-Chowk] because we've been denied justice from all quarters. Do whatever you like Chaudhry Nisar, but I'm going to bring my people here on November 30 come what may. If you have the guts, stop the tsunami," Imran declared. He ridiculed the government for holding the PTI responsible for an economic slide, adding Pakistan is on the verge of collapse due to failed economic policies of the Nawaz government.
"Nawaz handpicked his incompetent relatives, cronies, and nephews to run important state institutions and we want to know how many of his relatives are heading different companies to make commissions. If you do not tell us, PTI will bring them to books," he warned.
The PTI chairman also questioned why prime minister's relatives, sons, daughters accompanying him during his official trips, and the PTI will move the court for misusing taxpayers' money to bolster his family business. Imran reiterated his allegation that finance minister Ishaq Dar was involved in money laundering for Nawaz Sharif. "The way he [Dar] spoke against me seemed as my 'foot twisted his tail'. He seemed quite angry but let me tell "Mr Samdi" that if he was so true why he did not sue BBC which released an investigative report on his money laundering," he added.
He also asked Senator Dar how he "a tiny chartered accountant managed" to buy his grand Emirate Hills House in Dubai without doing any major business. "I'm asking how your sons became billionaire overnight. It's my right to raise voice because you have made all this ill-wealth through money laundering," he alleged.
PTI chairman appealed farmers' community throughout the country to reach Islamabad on November 30. Earlier, addressing his party lawmakers, Imran said he had no other option except seeking justice from the court of the people as all the corrupt political parties' have joined hands against PTI. "We knocked every door for justice and now public pressure is the only way out to kick them out. We exhausted all available options such as tribunals, courts and what not but justice was denied to us," he added. Amid 'Go Nawaz Go' slogan, Imran said the ongoing sit-in helped him distinguish between ideological party workers and an opportunist lot.
