The election tribunal Karachi on Wednesday declared the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Liaquat Jatoi successful from constituency PS-76. The tribunal had reserved the decision over Liaquat Ali Jatoi's petition after hearing. Liaqat Jatoi had accused the candidate of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Perveen Aziz Junejo, of committing vote rigging.
Election tribunal admitted Jatoi's petition and declared him victorious in the constituency. Former victor, Perveen Junejo had resigned from the assembly and the Election Commission had announced the schedule of by-polls. Meanwhile, Perveen Junejo submitted a plea in the Sindh High Court claiming that her resignation was taken forcibly.
