Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo, President of Punjab PPP, while responding to a question regarding the decision of the Punjab government not to arrest Dr Tahirul Qadri and also provide him security, he said that it was the first good decision of the provincial government.
He was speaking at a press conference after a meeting of PPP leaders which was held here on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo. He said the Punjab chapter of Pakistan People's Party was determined to make the 'Foundation Day Workers Convention' of November 30 a resounding success for which no effort would be spared. He added that different proposals regarding the elaborate arrangements were discussed in Wednesday's meeting and the approval of the same would be solicited from the PPP Punjab Executive Council in its meeting on November 21.
In the convention delegates from all over the country, including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, would participate in large number. He said that the Foundation Day Convention would be held on all Pakistan basis, adding at all district and tehsil level functions would also be held to project the political philosophy of the party with a view to acquaint the people across the country.
He said the city of Lahore would give the look like the PPP dominated city as its roads and public places would be tastefully decorated with PPP flags, flexes banners and other publicity material before the convening of the convention. He disclosed that the Youth Wing and PSF would arrange spectacular fireworks outside the Bilawal House and also bring out torch bearing procession that would be seeing as believing.
He added that the horse dancing, songs, music and folk singers would also add to the festivity of the PPP Foundation Day Convention. Manzoor Wattoo said that special arrangements would be made to facilitate the journalists to enable them to undertake their professional assignments. He added a bus would shuttle between the Lahore Press Club and the Bilawal House to provide transport facilities to journalists.
He said that he would try to arrange the meeting of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari with the media at a dinner during his stay in Lahore. Manzoor Wattoo said that provincial convention of the Punjab PPP would be held on January 31, 2015 either in Gujranwala or Rawalpindi so that party workers of the far flung areas could also interact with the Chairman. Tanvir Ashraf Kaira, Begum Neelam Hasnain, Dewan Mohiuddin, Suhail Milk, Mian Ayub, Naveed Chaudhry, Jahangir Khurram Wattoo, MPA Faiza Milk, MPA Jahan Ara Wattoo, Manzoor Maneka, Aslam Gill, Abdul Qadir Shaheen and others were present in the meeting.
