K-Electric has signed an agreement with NIB Bank which will allow its customers to pay their electricity bills at any NIB Branch in Karachi, which will be done electronically. For all customers paying their bills through NIB Bank Branches, bills will now be processed and paid electronically, utilising a UBPS (Utility Bill Payment Switch). This system will benefit both K-Electric and NIB Bank customers by making the processing and payment of bills more efficient, cost effective and timely.
The KE's press statement added that for the customer, it eliminates processing delays and makes consumer updates and fund transfers quicker, avoiding extra charges associated with delays. For K-Electric and NIB Bank both, this system will impact customer service positively by reducing consumer complaints and vastly improving operations in terms of speed.
Commenting on the launch, Syed Moonis Alvi, Chief Financial Officer & Syed Muhammad Taha, Chief Distribution Officer, K-Electric reiterated that this initiative is a part of the company's technology road map implementation that aims to make the entire system cost effective, transparent and customer-centric. Also commenting on the launch, Salman Sarwar Butt, Group Head - Consumer Banking, NIB Bank, said, "NIB Bank strongly believes in introducing technology-based solutions that meet the unmet financial needs of our customers".-PR
