Three-day Ijtema-e-Aam of Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) begins at the sprawling Minar-e-Pakistan (Iqbal Park) on Thursday. Delegations from all over the country started arriving in Lahore to participate in the Ijtema (congregation) on Thursday. According to the programme of the Ijtema, Sirajul Haq will present a "People's agenda" after Asr prayers on Friday, aiming at building Pakistan into a truly Islamic welfare state with the slogans of "Islami Pakistan, Pakistan Brighter".
On the second day, there would be an international session in which leaders and representatives of the Muslim movements and different Muslim countries would address. On the same day, there would be an international women conference at which representatives of women organisations from all over the world would participate.
There would also be a national session on the same (second) day which would be attended by leaders of major political and religious parties of the country. There would be special sessions on "the Message of the Quran and Sunnah" on both days. On the concluding day (Sunday), at one pm the JI chief, Sirajul Haq would unfold his line of action for the revival of the Pakistan movement, the strategy to realise the real objectives before the struggle for this separate Muslim homeland.
