Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan, who is all set to address a grand rally in PPP's bastion Larkana, has declared no one can exploit people of Sindh any further in the name of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. Addressing his party sit-in at D-Chowk here on Thursday, he said that the PTI would give an alternative leadership to the suppressed and oppressed people of interior Sindh.
"It was Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, who raised voice for people; promised to give them 'roti, kapra aur makan' [and] the PTI will fulfil that slogan," he added. He said that the way people of interior Sindh were being exploited in the name of Bhuttos, depriving them of their rights, would be no more remain slaves of Zardaris as PTI will give them voice, especially the youth like it did in other parts of the country.
He challenged former president Asif Ali Zardari to stop the tsunami as sea of people will gather in Larkana to give their verdict against the Zardaris, who intentionally kept the people of Sindh backward. "Zardari misused the name of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto's PPP and has become billionaire and his heydays are going to be over with PTI jalsa on Friday (today). PPP is enjoying sixth term in Sindh but the condition of people is gong from bad to worse day by day," he lamented.
He said the Haris (peasants) of Sindh depict the worst picture of slavery in the 21st century, while no political party has a clear and comprehensive program for, adding the PTI will give them their due rights. "The people of Sindh have decided that the PTI is the only party which can give them their due rights. So we will be in Larkana where the people, the poor Haris (peasants) and the farmers will tell those jealous of PTI," he maintained.
The PTI chairman once again attacked finance minister Ishaq Dar, saying: "Mr Samadi stop crying any more as people know who you are and what have you been doing with the taxpayers' money. Your money laundering scandal is no more a secret. If you're so honest why did not you sue the BBC which could have earned billions of rupees, besides giving you a clean chit from the allegations."
He blamed Nawaz Sharif, Asif Ali Zardari and people like Ishaq Dar for all the corruptions, poor economy, unemployment, etc, saying that their sole agenda remained to stuff their pocket through money laundering and kickbacks whenever they come into power. "Look Mr Samdi (Ishaq Dar) if you could have been so honest you would not have done money laundering. Had this been the case in some European country you would have been behind the bars bur unfortunately in Pakistan, might is right and you are now running the country's economy," he added.
Imran said that the reason why the government could not collect tax from people because the rich does not pay tax, adding if a prime minister (Nawz Sharif) could pay only Rs 5000 tax, how can you collect tax. "In countries like US, and UK the richest pay 35 percent tax of their total income and the rest follow them," he added. Imran also held the Nawaz-Zardari regimes responsible for sharp decline in rupee-dollar parity, saying the value of the rupee was 15 against US dollar in 1988 whereas it stabilised at rupee 60 per dollar during Musharraf era.
"The moment Zardari took over the rupee started depreciating as it was in their interests as they had dollar accounts abroad while with Nawaz Sharif in power in 2013, the rupee further depreciated and now one dollar is equal to rupee 103," he deplored. He said that the rulers were spending sleepless night as they were afraid of November 30 as people of Pakistan are going to make history against the corrupt lot, who have come into power by stealing their mandate.
