Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) on Friday claimed to have killed three Lyari gangsters in two separate encounters. According to police sources, two Lyari gangsters Faiz Muhammad alias Lala Orangi and Nadeem alias Japani were killed in a joint raid by police and Rangers in Lyari. Both the deceased were the associated with Baba Ladla group.
Police said that Lala Orangi was involved in various heinous crimes including target killings, terrorism, kidnapping for ransom and extortion. The bodies were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medico-legal formalities. Police said that Nadeem was one of the key accused in Jhatpat market attack, wherein 16 people including 12 women and children were killed.
Separately, another gangster was gunned down by police during an alleged encounter in Singolane, Lyari. The identity of the deceased was ascertained as Younis alias Maddi. He was said to be associated with Uzair Baloach group and involved 10 murder cases. The body was shifted to CHK for post-mortem. A bullet-riddled body of a man was recovered from Paposh Nagar. The victim was identified as Anayat, 30, son of Ashraf. The body was shifted to ASH for an autopsy.
