Qadri announces launching of political battle from Bhakkar: PAT to contest Bhakkar by-poll
Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chief Dr Tahirul Qadri said on Sunday that if his party was able to get two-thirds majority in the elections, he would bring change in the country. Addressing a PAT gathering in Bhakkar, Qadri said that he needed two-thirds majority from Peshawar to Karachi.
He said that terrorism and sectarianism would be eliminated from Pakistan under the party's rule. "The poor will get health facilities free of cost. Discrimination against women will end. Poor farmers will be given 10 acres of cultivable land absolutely free," he pledged.
He further said that "entrepreneurs will be given small loans, disparity between salaries will be minimised, free houses will be provided to the homeless, house loans for 25 years will be provided and petroleum products' prices will be brought down."
Qadri said that the war between the rich and the poor of the country had started. He said that he wanted to channelise the awareness that had been given to the people through the sit-ins and protest movement.
He promised to bring change if the people gave him two-thirds majority.
Qadri said that he was launching his political battle from Bhakkar in the upcoming by-election. He called upon the people of Bhakkar to vote for the PAT candidate in the by-poll.
"We are launching our revolutionary struggle through electoral politics from Bhakkar. This struggle is a war for the country's poor," he said.
Qadri also introduced PAT candidate Nazar Abbas and said he wanted to make the society a 'Hussaini society'.
The PAT chief said that the 90-day sit-in had given awareness to the people of Pakistan. "People are now challenging the rulers who have never allowed them their rights," said Qadri.
