The Lahore High Court here on Monday while issuing notices to Imran Khan and Dr Tahirul Qadri for November 28 in response to a petition against PTI's November 30 rally, observed how courts can interfere in this matter if the government itself allows public rallies. The court, however, observed that the main objective of the opposition ought to be allegiance to the nation and not to the government. The court also observed that opposition's right of no-confidence against the government cannot be taken back.
Earlier, the petitioner's counsel, A K Dogar, told the court that opposition was not loyal to the nation and instead it was instigating the people for civil disobedience. He further said that opposition also asked people not to pay taxes. He pleaded the court to stop PTI from holding its rally on November 30. The court asked the petitioner's counsel what the government did when the opposition announced civil disobedience, the counsel said that government did nothing. Then how courts could interference in the matter, the court remarked when issuing notices to respondents.
