Speaking at BBC's 'HARDtalk' programme, he said treason charges were manicured; and these are completely politicised. He said he is being targeted to avenge his action of 1999. He said he is convinced that finally it would be the victory of right and justice.

We believe in democracy, but we must adopt democracy according to Pakistani environment. " About US drone strikes, the former President admitted that he allowed one attack. "I'm just saying that' we were shown evidence of a major terrorist attack, then we agreed to." Regarding relations with India, the former President said he was not opposed to India but firmly believes in protecting the interests of Pakistan.
