One child was killed and six other persons received burnt injuries in gas explosion that took place inside a house situated at Sanghar Town in Rawalpindi on Tuesday. According to details, the blast took place due to gas leakage on third floor of a house located at Khokar Road in Sanghar Town and partially damaged the upper storey of the house, killing one child and injuring six others including a women and a child. Rescue teams reached the spot and doused the blaze.
The personnel of rescue service 1122 transferred the injured to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) in Islamabad for medical attendance. According to sources, compressor explosion has been blamed for the blast. People use compressor in their houses due to gas load-shedding which is very dangerous and illegal as well.
