Pakistan People's Party (PPP) has submitted a calling attention notice in the National Assembly Secretariat regarding Ebola virus in Pakistan here on Tuesday. PPP MNAs Dr Nafisa Shah, Shazia Atta Marri, Ejaz Hussain Jakhrani, Ramesh Lal and Dr Mehreen Razzaq Bhutto Tuesday submitted the calling attention notice in the National Assembly Secretariat.
According to calling attention notice, "We the undersigned would like to invite the attention of the Minister of State for National Health Services, Regulations and Co-ordination to a matter of urgent public importance regarding emergence of Ebola virus in Pakistan as it is suspected that a person has died due to this virus in Allied Hospital, Faisalabad on November 24, 2014.
It is a matter of grave concern, as World Health Organisation (WHO) already warned that Pakistan is on high risk of having Ebola virus disease if necessary steps are not taken on emergency basis. So we strongly urge government to take precautionary measures against the Ebola virus by establishing isolation wards to quarantine Ebola patients, have Ebola screening desks at airports and railway stations. The situation is worrisome and demands immediate discussion on the floor of the House."
