Chief of Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Siraj-ul-Haq, has expressed deep gratitude to the people of Lahore for their warm hospitality to the participants of the three days JI Ijema at the Minar e Pakistan that had made the congregation a great success.
Talking to the JI Lahore chief and in-charge of the Ijtema arrangements, Mian Maqsood Ahmed, at a review meeting on Tuesday, he said that Lahore was the city of Syed Ali Hajveri, Allama Muhammad Iqbal and Syed Abul Ala Maudoodi and its people were known for their magnanimity. On the appeal of the JI, the Lahorites had opened their hearts and arms for their brothers and sisters from all over the country attending the Ijtema, extended them every facility and made every sacrifice for making their stay comfortable.
He said it was because of the hospitality and co-operation of the Lahorites that the participants of the Ijtema had spent three days around the historic Minar e Pakistan with total ease, comfort and safety. He said that the guests also included delegates from different countries and leaders of different Islamic movements. He said the guests had fully acknowledged the warm hospitality and home-like atmosphere extended to them by the people here, and added that this had reminded him of the days of Pakistan Movement during 1940.
Meanwhile, the JI chief has directed the JI workers and members residing in the holy cities of Makkah and Madina to offer thanks-giving prayers (Nawafil) in the Haramain Sharifain, on the success of the JI Ijtema at the Minar e Pakistan.
