Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) will introduce 16 free demand driven courses of varied duration of three to six months. These courses will be started in its institutes across the province of the Punjab from January, 2015 on the recommendations of the relevant industry. As many as 28,500 students will get benefit from these courses during one year. Stipend of Rs 1,000 per month will also be given to the participants to meet their travelling expenditure.
Chairperson TEVTA Irfan Qaiser Shaikh was addressing the Zonal and District Manager Conference here on Tuesday at TEVTA Secretariat. Chief Operating Officer TEVTA Jawad Ahmed Qureshi, General Managers Hamid Ghani Anjum, Abdul Qayyum, Azhar Iqbal Shad, Akhtar Abbas Bharwana and other officers were also present.
Irfan Qaiser Shaikh said that demand driven courses include Mobile Repair, Home Appliances, Fashion Designing, Call Center, Web Designing, Kitchen Helper, Cooking, Laundry Man, Rice Operator, Embroidery, Gem & Jewellery, Pharmaceutical, Industrial Stitching, Housekeeper, Certificate in Computer Application and Textile Designing.
Chairperson TEVTA told the participants that trainees will be given free consumable material during their training period. TEVTA will also procure new machinery/equipment for its Institute wherever it is required. Additional remuneration to the teaching staff will also be given in addition to routine duties. He desired the dedicated response from the field formations to achieve the target of the assigned number of skilled workers. He also directed the lower formation to complete the ADP schemes on due course of time.
