Veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Geelani has called for complete shutdown on Tuesday (December 2) against the second phase of so-called election in the territory. Syed Ali Geelani in a statement issued in occupied Srinagar said that Jammu and Kashmir was a disputed territory, whose resolution had been pending since 1947, KMS reported.
"It tops the UN agenda and India is a signatory to almost 18 Resolutions passed by the World Body for its resolution. He termed as mere eyewash the election manifestos released by pro-India political parties.
Questioning the credibility of poll manifestos, he said that these were lollipops prepared by their masters sitting in Delhi to lure the gullible people.
"Pro-India leaders have tarnished the history of Jammu and Kashmir. They have always played a key role in creating political uncertainty and chaos in the territory and are responsible for all ills facing the people," he added. He maintained that the crimes they had committed against Kashmiris demand that they should be indicted for their wrong doings in a court of justice.
They pretend to be the saviours of people but the fact remains that they have been instrumental in strengthening the control of New Delhi over Kashmir. They are the people who sold out the sovereignty, honour, land, forests and other natural resources to New Delhi in pursuit of power," he said.
