The Co-chairman of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP), Asif Ali Zardari, on Tuesday severely criticised for choosing a day for its countrywide protest that coincided with an anniversary of the Fall of Dacca. He expressed these views on the second day of the foundation-day ceremony of PPP at the Bilawal House in Lahore.
According to him, politics demanded prudence on every step but "Imran Niazi" has no political wisdom; therefore he had decided to shut doown Pakistan on 16th December He said 16th December was the day of mourning and not protest but an "immature leadership of PTI" first decided to hold protest on that day and later altered it following strong criticism of its decision.
He said "attacking" Islamabad was not a rational approach. He said Islamabad was no temple of Somnath on which Imran had been launching relentless attacks. He said it was the PPP that took the initiative of raising the 'Go Baba Go' slogan against the then President Ghulam Ishaq Khan but they did not let the system collapse. The PPP workers also raised the 'Go Nawaz Go' slogan on the occasion. A few of them even asked why Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was not amongst them on the foundation day of the party.
