LHC disposes of MPA's petition

The Lahore High Court here on Tuesday while dismissing a petition of MPA of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Nighat Intisar against a fine imposed on her by an Election Tribunal observed that the court could not interfere in the matters of Election Tribunals.
The petitioner stated that she was elected to the Punjab Assembly in a by-election held in PP-107, Hafizabad. She said her opponent candidate challenged her victory before the Election Tribunal. She pointed out that on a hearing she failed to appear before the tribunal due to unavoidable circumstances. And the tribunal imposed a fine of Rs 38000 on her, she added. The petitioner asked the court to set aside the fine imposed by the tribunal.
