The Islamabad High Court on Friday granted pre-arrest bail to Ejaz Chaudhry, a Member of National Assembly, who has recently quit ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) to join Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). A single-member bench headed by Justice Noor-ul-Haq N. Qureshi heard a pre-arrest bail application filed by Ejaz Chaudhry through his counsel Advocate Saifullah.
He pleaded the court to grant him pre-arrest bail as he is being victimised by the government in a fake case against him. Ejaz Chaudhry's counsel argued that his client has been implicated in a fake case registered in 2003, adding that Ejaz Chaudhry's name has not been included in the case but he is being politically victimised following switching loyalties.
The lawyer maintained that the case was registered against Muhammad Ejaz S/O Ghulam Qadir while his client name is Ejaz Ahmed S/O Muhammad Ahmed, adding that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and police is harassing Ejaz Chaudhry and conducting raids on his residence. The court while directing the applicant MNA Ejaz Chaudhry to appear before the court on next date of hearing, granted him pre-arrest bail for a week.
