All Pakistan Muslim League Chief and former President Pervez Musharraf Saturday said the country is in the midst of serious crises and institutions have weakened due to inefficiency of PPP and PML-N governments while the judiciary is not playing its role. Addressing the APML Women Wing at the Study Secretariat of the party here, Musharraf said a third political force was the need of the hour to get the country from the present situation.
He said a united front comprising different opposition parties would be formed soon against PML-N and PPP. He said contacts are under way with PML-Q, MQM, Functional League, Khosa Group and others in this connection. He said he would be coming to Islamabad soon to play his role in making APML more effective party.
Musharraf pointed out that when institutions become weak and the judiciary does not play its role, people take law in their own hands and stage protests like sit-ins. He said the country was sinking economically as the poverty ratio is increasing and there is extreme shortage of electricity and gas. He said this is because of the wrong economic policies of PML-N and PPP governments as the country has all the required resources to stand on its feet. He said there is no system of check and balance.
In this scenario, he said, everyone will have to play his/her role particularly the women. He said his party would establish women wings in all the provinces. Addressing the function, APML Central Secretary General Dr Amjad hoped that a united front comprising five groups of Muslim League would soon come into existence.
