Workers of Muttahida Qaumi Movement in the provincial capital held a protest rally in front of the Lahore Press Club on Wednesday against the murder of MQM office bearer Bao Muhammad Anwar in Sialkot a day earlier. MQM Quaid Altaf Hussain had appealed to his workers to stage countrywide protests over the killing of MQM Sialkot district vice president, 'Bao Anwar' who was shot dead by unknown armed men on Tuesday night.
The MQM leadership demanded of the Punjab government to immediately arrest assassins of MQM leader and protection of MQM workers in the province. Responding to MQM demands, Punjab government spokesman Zaeem Qadri said that the government would try its best to arrest the killers and punish them according to the law.
