Commander of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), General John F. Campbell, on Thursday called on the Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) General Raheel Sharif, here at the GHQ. Both the commanders discussed affairs relating to the on-going operation Zarb-e-Azb and the overall security situation of the region. According to the ISPR, matters of mutual interest were discussed that included progress of operation Zarb-e - Azb, regional security situation and co-ordination along Pak-Afghan border.
General Campbell while exchanging his views with General Raheel on affairs relating to the Pak-Afghan border asked for strengthening co-operation between the two forces. Sources said that the General Raheel Sharif also briefed General Campbell about the on-going military operation Zarb-e-Azb and the government strategy pertaining to the repatriation of internally displaced persons (IDPs) of the North Waziristan.
