Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has set up 10 Vocational Counselling and Job Placement Centres in the province to train the graduates according to the market needs. These centres have been set up with the assistance of TEVTA Reform Support Program, which is funded by the European Union, government of Germany, Norway and Netherlands and is being implemented by GIZ in Pakistan.
These centres will also facilitate the graduates of these technical and vocational institutes in seeking the employment. In this connection, a ceremony for distribution the computers and other equipments was held here under the auspices of TEVTA-KP where Advisor to CM on Technical Education, Shah Mohammad Wazir was chief guest while Chairman, TEVTA, Nauman Wazir was also present on the occasion.
Addressing the ceremony, Shah Mohammad Wazir said that the provincial government has allocated a huge fund of Rs 8 billion for bringing the technical educational institutes of the province at par with international standard. He urged the experts of technical education to work devotedly for improvement in the standard of technical education and the government is ready to extend all possible support and co-operation in this regard.
Earlier, Chairman TEVTA, Nauman Wazir said that a total of 73 technical institutions will be established in the province. However, initially 10 Vocational Counselling and Job Placement Centres are being established in Peshawar, Kohat, Tangi, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Chakdara and Mardan. These centres would impart training to the graduates in getting employment. On this occasion, the Chairman, TEVTA warned the principals of the institutes to do justice with their sector and perform your duties with honesty and professional approach.
