The Lahore High Court here on Thursday hearing petition against shutdown call of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) in Lahore on December 15 remarked that people had been facing anarchy like situation due to inefficiency of the federal government and shrewdness of one political party.
A full bench hearing the petition further observed that the government had been closing roads by placing containers but protestors removed them with cranes. CCPO Lahore Amin Wains told to the bench that a comprehensive plan had been chalked out in view of the shutdown call of PTI. He said police would come up with a new strategy to maintain law and order in the city.
The court observed that the people in Lahore were in great sense of fear after violent protests in Faisalabad. People had been advising each others to stay at home, the bench added. Earlier petitioner's counsel stated that the city administration and police had not engaged the traders before devising a security plan.
