Pakistani business community have the ability to gain advantages from the European markets by exercising their export potential through GSP Plus status. CBI expert Marcel Oosterveer stated this while addressing the participants of concluding session of "Master Class Training of Trainer Programme on GSP Plus" arranged by Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) for its officers in collaboration with CBI held at TDAP Lahore (December 8 to 11).
Marcel highlighted the GSP Plus status with reference to Pakistan economy in detail and talked about the implementation of a system to ensure the future benefits of GSP plus status for the Pakistani business community. He appreciated the efforts of Government of Pakistan for making enormous efforts to train its officers to help further promote GSP plus knowledge to the Pakistan business community at large.
He said, "CBI have close collaboration with the TDAP for the promotion of GSP plus facility to the Pakistani exporters so that they may achieve the desirable results through their business penetration in the European markets." Meanwhile CBI expert Zaheer Uddin Dar also made his presentation on the benefits of GSP plus in perspective of Pakistan economy. At the concluding session of the training programme, Director General TDAP Lahore Sher Afgan Khan awarded certificates to the participants of the programme.
He declared the training programme as a healthier activity in terms of GSP plus knowledge orientation to the officers and highlighted the efforts being made by the Authority for the promotion of trade related activities. He said this training programme was aimed at equipping the TDAP officers about the GSP plus modules to help further disseminate information to the exporters of the country so that they could excel their products in the European markets with focus on GSP plus regulations and quality driven norms.
