"The country cannot afford politics of strikes and sit-ins because the goal of national development and prosperity can be achieved through commitment, devotion and hard work." This was consensus of views expressed by political leaders and traders with reference to strike call of December 15.
They maintained that the country is facing challenges which can be tackled through unity and national approach. Leader of Pakistan Muslim League-N Malik Pervaiz MNA said that need of the hour is that the wheel of country's economy should continue moving by foiling conspiracy aimed at sabotaging government efforts being made for raising living standard of the people. Another PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah said the business community of Faisalabad had rejected Imran Khan's call for shutter down strike. He said Imran Khan needs to change the style of his politics. Traders' representatives Ansar Zahoor Butt, Liaqat Sethi and Kh Aamir said the government must resolve the political issues through dialogue because Pakistan is not in a position to afford the politics of sit-ins and strikes.
