Chairman of Sindh Tarraqi Pasand Party, Dr Qadir Magsi has said his party is striving to make the country a real federation where all nations can live with honour and dignity and to liberate them from slavery as they have been undergoing this humiliation since the creation of Pakistan.
He said they wanted to see that a son of a poor peasant from Sindh could also become Chief of Army Staff and for getting this equality the big brother would have to ward off short-sightedness. He was addressing a big public meeting in front of Hyderabad Press Club here on Thursday at the end of three-day hunger strike of his party observed against dumping of mutilated bodies of Sindhi youths across the province.
Magsi said Sindh had received 46 mutilated bodies of its sons and demanded it should be stopped at once. He claimed that it was pressure of his party's protest that on the last day, the Sindh chief minister had broken his silence and said he would approach the Centre over dumping dead bodies of political parties' workers.
He deplored that Sindh Assembly, which represented feelings of 50 million of Sindhis, had passed a bill to establish universities being named after Altaf Hussain. He said they would not accept this nor allow Riaz Malik to build colonies for people belonging to other provinces or countries.
Terming PPP leader and former president Asif Ali Zardari as traitor of Sindh, Magsi said that in 2008, he put Sindhi cap, a symbol of honour of Sindh, over the head of MQM leader Farooq Sattar and now he was again repeating the same to put his turban on the head of Riaz Malik which meant Zardari did not deserve this honour. If Zardari, Altaf and Riaz Malik tried to tarnish the identity of Sindh, the STP would resist it with full strength.
Talking about his party's three-day hunger strike, he said he knew that the state may not stop dumping bodies of our youths but he wanted to console the families of martyrs and minimise their griefs that they were not alone the STP was with them, to wake up the conscience of the world human rights bodies to the blatant violation of human rights by Pakistan state organs and tell the Prime minister, Sindh Chief Minister and others enjoying power that they were responsible for ensuring the protection of life, honour and property of every citizen as it is their basic right.
He said they did not desire to beg pardon from the authorities to spare lives of their youth but warn them that if they did not stop this practice, it must lead the whole society to anarchy. Earlier, Qamar Bhatti, Chairman of Sindh Qaumparsat Party, Naz Sanai, writer intellectual, Hamid Memon, Hyder Mallah and Altaf Jeskani also addressed the public meeting. They condemned the dumping of mutilated bodies of Sindhi youths and criminal silence of the Sindh government over the issue.
